Recordings
Record meetings, manage your recordings library, and play back or download past sessions.
Record meetings by starting, stopping, or pausing a recording during a meeting. Browse a searchable recordings library, then play back or download recordings individually or as a ZIP archive.
During a meeting
Use the recording controls in the meeting room to manage the recording without leaving the call. The recording indicator shows that recording is active and displays the elapsed recording time.
Recording controls
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Start recording | Begins recording the meeting. |
| Stop recording | Ends the recording and saves it for processing. |
| Pause recording | Temporarily pauses the recording. |
| Resume recording | Continues a paused recording. |
Recording requires consent. Participants see a notice when recording is active or paused.
Recording rules
Recording behavior depends on who starts, pauses, and resumes the recording.
- Only one active recording can run per meeting.
- A host can pause recording.
- A non-host can pause recording when participant pausing is enabled.
- Only the person who paused the recording or a host can resume it.
- A paused recording stops automatically if nobody resumes it within 5 minutes.
Recording depends on the plan. It is available on Standard and Premium, monthly or yearly, and during a trial. It is not available on Free or Start.
Auto-record follows the same rule. On Free or Start the auto-record setting can still be saved, but nothing is recorded.
Recordings library
The Recordings page provides a searchable, paginated table of recordings. Use it to find recordings by meeting title, review their processing status, open the associated meeting history, or delete recordings when permitted.
Library columns
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Thumbnail | A recording thumbnail or a placeholder while a thumbnail is unavailable. |
| Meeting title | The title of the meeting associated with the recording. |
| Creation date and time | When the recording was created. |
| Duration | The length of the recording. |
| Status | The current recording or thumbnail-processing status. |
| Action menu | Actions available for the recording, depending on your permissions. |
Search and filter
Use the library controls to narrow and organize your recordings:
- Search by title: Find recordings by their associated meeting title.
- Filter by status: Choose Complete, Recording, Generating thumbnail, or Failed.
- Sort results: Sort recordings in ascending or descending order.
- Filter by scope: View your own recordings, other users' recordings, or all recordings when authorized.
- Delete recordings: Delete recordings when your permissions allow it.
Depending on your permissions, you may see only your own recordings, all recordings, or a subset.
Meeting history: recordings tab
The Recordings tab on the meeting details page shows the recordings associated with one meeting. Use this view when you want to review or download recordings in the context of the meeting history.
The tab includes:
- A table on desktop or a mobile list of recordings for that meeting.
- The recording status and duration.
- A video playback modal for watching recordings inline.
- A Download All button.
- A ZIP download containing all non-empty recordings for the meeting.
