Public Forms

Submit forms as a visitor - navigate multi-step forms, answer validation-aware fields, upload files, and see a confirmation - no account needed.

Opening a form

Open a published form from its public link. You do not need an account to view or submit it.

Open the public link

Open the form link provided by the form author. The form loads only when the link points to a published form.

Start filling out the form

Review the form instructions, answer the fields shown, and continue through each step. Tokenized or additional forms may require a special link or token when the form author enables that option.

You can navigate multi-step forms, see only fields enabled by conditional logic, complete validation-aware fields, upload files, images, or video, and submit the form. After submission, you see the confirmation configured by the form author. Public submissions are limited to 10 submissions per form per IP address per hour.

Multi-step forms divide questions into separate steps. A step indicator or progress bar shows your position and may update as the form determines which steps apply to your answers.

Complete the current step

Answer the fields shown on the current step. Required fields and field-specific validation must pass before you continue.

Move to the next step

Select the control to continue. The form validates your answers before moving forward and may show additional steps based on your answers.

Review an earlier step

Use the back control to return to an earlier step and update your answers. Changing an earlier answer may change which fields or steps appear later.

Conditional fields

Some fields appear or disappear based on answers you gave earlier. The form evaluates these conditions in order, so one answer can determine which later questions you see.

Some fields may appear or disappear based on your prior answers. Hidden fields do not require an answer and are not included in the submitted form data.

If a field disappears after you change an earlier answer, the form does not validate or submit that hidden field. Fields that remain visible continue to follow their configured validation rules.

Completing fields

Public forms support several field types. The form author chooses which fields to include and how each field behaves.

Field typeWhat the visitor does
Short textEnter a brief response, such as a name or title.
Long textEnter a longer response, such as a description or message.
NumberEnter a numeric value. Some fields accept only whole numbers or enforce minimum and maximum values.
EmailEnter an email address in a valid email format.
PhoneEnter a phone number.
SelectChoose one option from a list.
Multi-selectChoose one or more options from a list.
RadioChoose one option from visible choices.
CheckboxSelect or clear a checkbox.
DateChoose or enter a date. The form may restrict dates to the past, the future, or a configured date range.
File uploadUpload one or more supported files.
Image uploadUpload supported image files.
Video uploadUpload supported video files.
RatingSelect a rating within the configured range.

A required field must contain a value before you continue or submit the form. The form also checks rules such as text length, number ranges, date restrictions, selection counts, and response patterns when those rules are configured.

When an answer does not meet a field's rules, the form shows an error message near the field. Correct the answer and try again. Fields hidden by conditional logic are excluded from required-field validation.

Uploading files

Use file, image, or video upload fields to attach files to your submission. The form shows upload progress while each file is sent.

The server accepts these file types and hard size limits:

File categorySupported typesMaximum size
ImagesJPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF50 MB
VideosMP4, WebM, QuickTime500 MB
Other filesPDF, Word, Excel, TXT, CSV20 MB

A file outside the supported types or size limit is rejected. The form may also show additional restrictions configured by the form author.

Limits set by the form author on a single field, such as a smaller file size or the allowed file types, are checked in the browser when you add a file. A maximum number of files applies to each batch of files you add at once.

Vadio does not scan uploaded files for viruses or malware. The only checks Vadio makes are the file type and the file size.

Submitting and confirmation

After you complete the visible fields, select the submit button. The form validates your answers again before accepting the submission, so correct any errors that appear.

The form author configures what happens after a successful submission. You may see a thank-you message, or the form may redirect you to another URL.

Tokenized and additional forms

Some form workflows provide an additional form through a tokenized link. The token identifies the form session or grants access to a form that is not available through the standard public link.

Tokenized forms may be pre-filled or gated. Use the link or token provided by the form author to open the additional form.

The additional form may open at a dedicated page and can use the same multi-step navigation, conditional fields, validation, uploads, and confirmation behavior as other public forms.

Submission limits

Public forms allow up to 10 submissions per form per IP address per hour. The limit applies to the individual form rather than to all forms globally.

When the limit is reached, the next submission is refused. The form shows an error message and the submission is not saved.

If a submission does not go through after repeated attempts, wait before trying again or contact the form author.

What visitors cannot access

The form does not load when the link points to a:

  • Draft form
  • Archived form
  • Deleted form
  • Unknown form slug

Only published forms accept public visitors and submissions.
