Coverage
Visualize member company service areas on a chain map, identify coverage gaps, and draw or edit geographic service areas.
Coverage map
View all member company service areas on an interactive map, identify coverage gaps, and draw or edit service-area polygons for each member.
The coverage map is available to chain head offices on every plan. You need chain read access to open it.
The Coverage page uses a split view. The chain-wide map appears on the left, while the searchable member side panel appears on the right.
Use the side panel to:
- Search by member company name.
- Filter by membership status: Active, Inactive, or All. The filter defaults to Active.
- Review coverage details for each member company.
- Select a member to highlight the member on the map and expand its details.
Selecting a member on the map also highlights that member in the side panel and expands its details.
Coverage states
Each member company is categorized according to the service-area coverage available for that member.
| State | What it means |
|---|---|
| Coverage area | The member has a saved polygon or multipolygon. The side panel shows a blue Coverage area badge. |
| Radius coverage | The member has a location but no drawn service area. The map shows the calculated service radius in miles. |
| No service area | The member has no usable location or service radius. |
Where the service radius comes from
Each member company sets its own service radius in its order settings, between 1 and 500 km. New companies start with a radius of 48 km, which is about 30 miles.
When a member has no radius saved, the map uses the head office's own service radius instead. When the head office has none either, the map uses 48 km.
The head office cannot set a separate chain-wide default, and it cannot change a member's radius from the Coverage page.
The side panel sorts member cards in this order:
- Members with an explicit coverage area
- Members with radius coverage
- Members with no service area
The panel also shows:
- Total members with coverage
- Contact email
- Contact phone
- Last updated date
- Inactive status
- Edit area or Draw area action, depending on whether the member already has a saved service area
Draw or edit service area
Save one or more polygons to define where a member company serves customers.
Select a member
Select a member from the map or side panel. The member's details expand, and the map highlights the selected member.
Start drawing or editing
Click Draw area when the member has no saved service area. Click Edit area to modify an existing service area.
Draw or modify the polygons
Draw one or more polygons on the map, or modify the member's existing polygons to match the intended service area.
Save the service area
Save your changes. The service area is stored as a geographic multipolygon for the selected member.
A service area must contain at least one polygon. Empty geometry cannot be saved.
Coverage edits update the member company's service area data, not its membership metadata.
