Rename stages
Update a stage name when the corresponding sales step changes.
Reorder stages by drag and drop
Move stages into the order your team follows when progressing deals.
Change stage colors
Choose colors that help your team distinguish stages at a glance.
Delete stages with no open deals
Delete a stage only when it does not contain open deals.
You cannot delete a stage that has open deals.
Pipeline statistics
Pipeline statistics show the number of stages, open deals, and leads associated with each pipeline. Use these counts to review pipeline structure and activity before making configuration changes.
Chain-managed pipelines are read-only.
Chain pipelines
Chain pipelines only appear for companies that belong to a chain. A company that is not in a chain never sees one.
- Chain head office: Works with the single chain pipeline and edits its stages. It cannot add other pipelines.
- Chain member: Sees the head office's chain pipeline first in the list, labeled Managed by chain. Members cannot edit it. They can still create and manage their own pipelines.
The chain pipeline cannot be deleted.
Custom fields
Create custom fields for contacts, companies, and deals when the standard record fields do not capture the information your team needs.
Create and manage custom fields
Choose the record type first, then configure the fields that should appear on those records.
Choose a record type
Select Contact, Company, or Deal.
Create a custom field
Add a field to store information specific to your sales process.
Select a field type
Choose the field type that matches the data the field will store. See the list of field types below.
Edit field settings
Update field labels, options, colors, and icons as needed.
Reorder fields
Arrange fields in the order your team should review them.
Delete a non-system field
Remove custom fields that your team no longer needs. System fields cannot be deleted.
Field types
| Field type | What it stores |
|---|---|
| Short text | A single line of text. |
| Long text | A longer piece of text. |
| Number | A numeric value. |
| An email address. | |
| Phone | A phone number. |
| Date | A calendar date. |
| Dropdown (single-select) | One option from a list you define. |
| Radio | One option from a list you define. |
| Multi-select | Several options from a list you define. |
| Checkbox | A yes or no value. |
Dropdown, radio, and multi-select fields need at least one option before you can save them.
The Tags type is reserved for the built-in Tags field on each record type. You cannot create another field of that type.
Tag configuration
Configure tag options for the records your team manages. Tags can be used in list filters and displayed on record detail pages, helping your team identify and filter records by meaningful attributes.
Lost reasons
Manage the predefined reasons shown when a deal is marked Lost. Consistent lost reasons help your team record why opportunities do not move forward.
Add a suggestion
Create a lost reason that your team can select when marking a deal as lost.
Rename a suggestion inline
Edit the text of an existing lost reason directly in the settings.
Remove a suggestion
Remove a lost reason that your team no longer uses.
Undo a removal
Restore a lost reason after removing it if you changed your mind.
Editing lost reasons does not change reasons already recorded on existing deals.
Offer defaults
Set default values for new offers so your team starts from a consistent validity period, terms, and acceptance method.
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Default validity period | The number of days an offer remains valid by default. |
| Default terms text | The terms text added to new offers by default. |
| Default acceptance method | Whether recipients accept by clicking or signing. |
Save and audit
The settings page shows a save bar when you make changes. Use Discard to remove unsaved changes or Save to apply them.
The page also shows when the settings were last changed and links to the audit log. Changes to offer defaults are audited, and you can override the defaults on individual offers when needed.
